Amber is a trainer/motivator/general bad ace over at Zeph's Gym here in Rockport. She pushes me daily to manifest my inner-strength through physical strength and I am honored to call her a friend. Here are a few of her words
“I suspect I’m like most all moms out there, wondering if I’m doing the best I can for my girl. Often times feel like I didn’t get the mom “gene”...you know, the ability to be a rockstar woman who has a brood of children and patience for days (at least it appears that way). I’m just going with the flow and doing what comes naturally, which often times feel like it’s not enough.
I want my daughter to learn how to be independent and strong. I don’t want her to have to rely on anyone but herself.
I hope that waiting to have her in my thirties has given me enough experience to teach her all that it takes to be a leader, to be a team player, to be compassionate, to be understanding and most of all to be courageous.
This little girl has taught me about not being in control...pretty certain God had something to do with that as well!
So for now, I’m going to keep following this gift of discernment and do my very best to support my baby in all that she does. Inevitably I’ll still wonder if I’m doing the best for her.”
I hope you'll agree with me, that the crinkle in her nose when she smiles and the glitter in her eye are evidence enough of the joy she has as a result of her mama doing more than "enough."
We came together to shoot this session in downtown Corpus Christi and Cole Park. I love going to Corpus and am now booking maternity, newborn, and family sessions in the Coastal Bend, Austin, Houston, and the DFW.
