Welcome Baby Whit

You may remember this gorgeous mama and her sweet home from her maternity session a few months ago. Nationwide Stay at Home orders had been put in place and we were all unsure what exactly this meant for Carly’s birth plans. Her story is one shared by mamas all over the world. I am so happy I got to meet her precious boy at home after COVID-19 restrictions had been eased up a bit

A friend sent this to me shortly after giving birth, and it really struck a chord with me -becoming even more apparent and true as the days pass and I reflect back on this entire first month

“Even though the COVID-19 Pandemic took some precious moments away from us with not being able to welcome our first child into this world surrounded by friends and family, it provided me with ample reflection time- time to be fully present and lean into this internal change, which has been the most amazing part of being a new mom for me.”

Welcome Baby Bear

A few months ago I had the pleasure of photographing one of my very favorite humans

Watching my childhood friends become spouses and parents has been such a fulfilling part of “growing up” and being hired to photograph their journeys has been a huge blessing.

And just in case you were wondering, yes, Bear was absolutely the sweetest, chillest, angel baby there ever was.

Gabby’s love of nature sprouts from her bones through generations of green thumbs in her family. It was only fitting that we celebrated the new life in her family by meeting up at her childhood home when she came to visit for Spring Break.

Congratulations, Gabrie’l and DaCoda on the start of your greatest adventure to date.

Charissa & Baby at Home with Rockport Family Photographer Mae Burke

Last summer I had one of my very favorite sessions ever here in Rockport.

A beautiful mom, her husband, three boys and one baby girl.
It was a magical, sweaty evening that made me fall in LOVE with this family

In fact, at the time I had been planning to quit my business, (but then Harvey, and blah blah blah...) and when I got home to edit them, I turned to my husband, leaned into his chest and started crying saying "It sucks this is over, I love it so much and I'm really good at it."

Plans changed (PRAISE THE LORDT!) and the second I got another inquiry from Charissa, I was thrilled. I'll be photographing her again this summer, but first, we needed to celebrate her itty bitty baby girl's first birthday!

Charissa booked a Loyalty Session and we met at her home here in Rockport just to capture a few frames of who this little lady is.

Charissa says she's not "good with words" but I would argue that she uses up all of her energy pouring into her kiddos. And she wrapped up our experience rather susinctly, in my opinion!

I am so lucky to get to photograph amazing mothers and their families like this.
