Houston yielded some beautiful images of some beautiful mothers with their children.
More to come from this family and more.

I am a ball of nerves and hope as workshop season draws nearer. DC is completely sold out and Philly still has a few spots left. Tampa and So Cal have been added to the list of cities in the fall and more details will be provided soon.
Every day I take notes about all the thoughts that are running through my head about motherhood, artistry, fear, teaching, learning, Benedict Cumberbatch... Wait, no, he has nothing to do with these workshops... I think. May is slowly creeping up on me and I'm quivering with anticipation.
What will this workshop look like?
Your fee will cover your lunch, snacks, drinks, workbook, and a few extra goodies to take home with you. There are only 10 seats for each workshop. The fee is $700 (plus tax and paypal fees if you pay that way) but will be discounted to $650 if you book by March 1. Things happen unexpectedly for you, and for me. Due to the nature of traveling for these workshops, the fee is non refundable. You may however sell your seat to someone else if you are unable to make it. In the tragic, pride crushing event that I don’t fill enough seats in any given city, I will cancel that workshop and refunds will be given.
These workshops are for female professional or hobbyist photographer that already knows their way around their camera (digital or film) in manual mode. I will spend very little time going over camera settings. This workshop is perfect for the photographer who wants to know more about motherhood portraiture and how to specialize in it.
Are babies welcome? Uhduh. Will we be bffs afterwards? If I don't scare you off. Is there gonna be lots of that touchy feely crying Jesus stuff? I can't make any promises but ya.
So, are you ready? Email me at workshops.maeburke@gmail.com with any questions (spoiler alert, I have payment plans available) and let’s get started.
Before every session I ask my mamas "Ok, you say to yourself, 'I've got a session with Mae Burke, I need to make sure I have *this* picture.' Now, what comes to mind?" Over the years the responses I've received have changed from "Well there's this one I saw on Pinterest" to "...Just me loving on my babies!" It means something different to every single mom, but somehow universally the same.
Excited to keep shooting in today's soft grey skies and surging tides
